Supporting a Lifelong Friend: Jim D'Errico's Fight Against Cancer

 Hey everyone,

It's been a long time since I've seen my old friend Jim D'Errico, but I wanted to take a moment to talk about one of my closest friends. I met Jim in high school and he quickly became a part of our group of friends that I've known since the fourth grade. Jim is the type of person who will go above and beyond for his friends, and I have a personal story that illustrates this perfectly.

After high school, I was living in Tallahassee and my cousin Tim came down to visit. We went to Tampa for a trip to Busch Gardens and unfortunately, I lost my keys on a roller coaster ride. My cousin and I were stuck at the amusement park and didn't know what to do. Fortunately, Jim was living in Orlando at the time and he drove all the way to Tampa to come to help us out. It's that type of dedication and kindness that makes Jim a truly special person and a great friend.

Unfortunately, Jim is now facing a difficult battle against stage four Neuroendocrine Cancer. He's been fighting this form of pancreatic and liver cancer since 2018 and has exhausted all treatment options available to him in Ohio. His care providers have asked him to seek other treatment options or get his affairs in order. They are only treating him to be comfortable at this time, but he hasn't given up hope, nor have we.

Jim is only 40 years old and has a lot to live for, starting with his three amazing children, Antonio, Aidan, and Samantha. He's a devoted father and is determined to see his children grow up and graduate high school. Jim's insurance will no longer cover his needs for the next step of treatment, and the costs are estimated to be around $50,000.

We're calling on anyone and everyone to help our dear friend Jim. We understand not everyone is financially capable of donating a lot, but every little bit matters. Our goal is high, but it's worth it. Jim's battle becomes more challenging every day and he needs our help now. Even if you can't donate, please share this post, and let's get the word out beyond our community. This man's life matters to so many, including his children, who should not have to go through their young lives without a father.

Please consider donating to Jim's GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of his treatment. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated. Let's come together and support Jim in his fight against cancer.

Thank you,

Michael Smith
